Rangers have been hitting the transfer window hard this summer, whereas Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers has been lukewarm, and the locals will be hoping that he will at least sign some quality players to help retain their dominance in Scotland.
Despite the lack of action in the market, the Bhoys could be bidding one of their main defenders goodbye this summer, with reports in Italy starting to circulate.
And that’s because, according to Il Messaggero, Serie A giants Lazio are weighing up a move for defender Dedryck Boyata, as they look to make contingency plans should they lose their best centre-back.
The 27-year-old has proven to be an integral part of the Celtic squad over the years, with his recent form earning him a place in the Belgium national team for this summer’s World Cup.
His future has now become a subject of speculation as has rejected a new deal at Celtic Park, and with just one year left on his current deal to run, it’s possible he heads out of the club this summer.
The Celtic fans will want to see Boyata remain at Parkhead beyond the summer, or at least sign a new replacement if he does leave.
