Chelsea have now officially completed Michy Batshuayi’s signing from Marseille in a reported £33million transfer. The Belgian International was unveiled earlier today where he was pictured wearing Chelsea jersey and sign his new contract.
The 22-year-old becomes Antonio Conte’s first signing at Chelsea ahead of an excruciating summer where a massive overhaul is expected at Stamford Bridge. Incoming manager is keen to sign at least 4-5 new players with Batshuayi being his first summer recruit.

Soon after completing his move to Stamford Bridge, Batshuayi discussed the big step in his life in an interview with Chelsea FC where he revealed how joining Chelsea was a childhood dream for him and he intents to help the club win a number of trophies in coming seasons.
Batshuayi also revealed that he has already held talks with Conte and aims at giving his 100% to feature in the manager’s plans next season. The striker also acknowledge Didier Drogba as a role model and promised to work hard to have the same impact former club legend had after signing from Marseille back in 2005.
Coming with a £33m price tag, Conte would be under an unsaid obligation to start Batshuayi next season but if Chelsea are to sign Alvaro Morata in coming weeks and for some odd reason Diego Costa stays at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian may end up fighting for his place in the team week-in week-out.
As a player, he is someone Conte would absolutely love as he is technically gifted and is equally adept at using both of his feet and is physically very strong as well. He can hold up the ball and bring others as well as score on every possible opportunity.
Verdict – A great signing for Chelsea but the fans should not expect great things from him immediately. Rather they should give him enough time to settle down in Premier League and should never forget that he is just 22-year-old.
