How much humiliation can Chelsea take?

By now Chelsea Football Club must have understood that Radja Nainggolan and AS Roma are not willing to do any business with them this summer.

After seeing two of their official bids knocked back, Chelsea went in with their third bid last night which was also rejected by the Serie A giants, according to latest reports.

This was the third time Chelsea have been asked to end their Nainggolan pursuit but Antonio Conte’s willingness to field the Belgium international in his lineup is seeing Chelsea make one offer after the other.

However, by now Conte must have realized that Nainggolan is out of his reach and he must look elsewhere to complete his midfield overhaul.

That is why Axel Witsel’s name has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after the Zenit man expressed his desires of quitting the Russian league this summer.

Apparently Chelsea will need to fend off interests from Everton and Juventus in order to sign Witsel, who will be available in the £25-30m bracket.

Lack of Champions League is worrying for Chelsea

Chelsea have been linked with several players in recent weeks but have failed to press ahead with any of the rumoured targets. Whether it is down to Conte’s involvement with Euro 2016 or their lack of Champions League action this season? Only time will tell.

Antonio Candreva, Leonardo Bonucci and virtually the entire Italian squad is currently a target for Conte and Chelsea, but they will need to pay insane amount of money to sign either of them simply because of their fragile European status.

It must be a new experience for Roman Abramovich and Chelsea fans who have seen their side flourish in the transfer market in last decade or so but for the first time are facing setbacks and are getting humiliated in pursuit of their key targets.
