Chelsea and Manchester United have been locked in an intense transfer battle to sign John Stones and it will continue this January as well.
Stones was subject to intense transfer interest from Chelsea with Roman Abramovich keen on the deal. However, Chelsea’s failures allowed Manchester United to steal the march on their rivals for Stones’ signature.
Seeing the possibility of Stones joining United in the summer, Chelsea have now decided to put one final offer for Stones in region of 50million.
According to Metro, Abramovich will submit the bid in coming days with Everton still firm on their stance of not selling Stones until the summer.
However, a £50million offer could be too much to turn down for the Merseyside club. Stones has acknowledged Chelsea’s interest in the past and is keen to play anywhere given his development continues to happen at the highest levels.
