Chelsea were involved in a very ill-tempered affair against West Ham this Saturday, which saw total 7 yellow cards and three red cards being flashed by the match official John Moss. With such a shambolic act of discipline, The FA’s automatic disciplinary action would come to effect since there were five or more players booked in a single game. According to reports, Chelsea will fined £25,000 by the FA for their show of indiscipline.
In total, 6 Chelsea players (Azpilicueta, Matic, Costa, Fabregas, Willian & Mikel) were booked with Nemanja Matic seeing a red card for two Yellow card offense. Prior to all of these acts, coach Silvino Louro was sent to stands, while manager Jose Mourinho was sent off as well for his alleged insult against the match official.
The FA have demanded an explanation from the club over three questionable incidences from the game. FA are also contemplating to write to Chelsea about their nuisance of skipping the entire post-match programme. None of the Chelsea staff attended the post-match conference, which again is a breach of FA’s code of conduct for not fulfilling the media obligation.
FA are still awaiting referee John Moss’ official match report, which could further bring trouble for the struggling reigning Champions. Chelsea are currently struggling at 15th place in the table and there does not seem to be any quick way to turn this thing around.
According to Sky Sports News HQ, Mourinho met with Chelsea officials in a secret meeting which has not gone his way and he might be fired if he does not manage to win the Liverpool game. Odds are heavily stacked against Jose and his boys, it would take a special effort from the Special One to turn this thing in his favor.
