Chelsea have went in with a fresh bid to sign Everton centre-back John Stones in the January transfer window. Concrete reports of a fresh £45million bid have resurfaced and media is crediting Guss Hiddink with the effort.

It is believed that Hiddink followed Stones to Chelsea saga very close in the summer and now is willing to push Roman Abramovich to all limits to bring the 21-year old defender to Chelsea.

Things have changed since the summer as Abramovich is now ready to call the transfer shots with Jose Mourinho no longer in the way to impede.

With Hiddink in charge, Chelsea are looking to build a squad for the summer and finish the season on a high.

According to reports from Daily Star and Metro, Chelsea are eager to push with second Stones bid if Everton decide to reject their current bid.

Hiddink is keen to sign the England International star and will go as high as £55million, if need be. Chelsea’s desperation is also caused by Manchester United’s concrete interest in signing the Everton man.
