Chelsea are closing on Alvaro Morata’s signing from Real Madrid after the Spanish giants have asked The Blues to submit a £67m offer to stand a chance of signing the Spaniard.
According to reports from Mirror, Chelsea’s last offer was just £5million short of Real Madrid’s valuation and is likely to press ahead with the transfer in coming weeks.
Mirror have also claimed that Antonio Conte has been in constant talks with the player and has even offered him a sizable contract offer to join the Premier League club side this summer.
Chelsea have already seen two of their offers turned down by the Los Blancos but after being told to pay £67m, we may see Morata’s move to Stamford Bridge become a reality.
Antonio Conte has been the biggest reason why Chelsea have not seen their interest fade away in the player. The Italian manager is a huge admirer of the 23-year-old striker as he was the man who had signed Morata back in his time at Juventus.
Diego Costa’s future at Chelsea could come under doubt if Morata is signed this summer after Blues have already completed a deal for Michy Batshuayi.
Costa is linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid with the Spanish side eager to submit a €60m offer for their former player.
