It may have come as a surprise to see Chelsea not sign a single player in the January Transfer Window after the terrible season they are going through. Currently ranked 14th, Blues were expected to bring in reinforcement in the forward department.
However, as things stand, Guus Hiddink is not too keen to bring in any new name in January and give his current squad the best chance to finish the season on a high. Having said that, whether or not it is the right strategy for Chelsea, I am not too sure.
What Chelsea fans want in January Transfer Window?
In recent weeks, Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for two Brazilian forwards, Alexandre Pato and Alex Teixeira. According to Football Insider and Don Balon, Pato is a done deal with Corinthians agreeing to a £10million transfer.
As for Teixeira, Chelsea will have to cough-up £30million to land the Shakhtar Dontesk man. Among other fan favorites to arrive at Chelsea this month are John Stones, Tony Kroos and Paul Pogba.
Whom will Chelsea sign in January transfer window?
Before you get any excited, the likes of Stones, Pogba and Kroos will not be joining Chelsea this month, however, a move for Pato is not far off. According to Mirror, Blues have agreed a deal to bring the striker at the club amid recent injury to Diego Costa.
Hiddink knows that he cannot rely on the likes of Falcao and Remy to pool in with the goals and if Costa ends up missing key games, it will not be a good news for the men in Blue.
