With January transfer window approaching, we are bound to hear plenty of vague rumours linking some of the best players in Europe to the biggest teams. One such story has been surfacing lately with the news of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting linked with a move to Chelsea. According to Metro, Dortmund have slapped a £42million asking fee for their star striker with Blues willing to meet the asking price.
Following on the story, Fichajes have also confirmed the news citing Aubameyang as the last option for Chelsea to save their season. Despite these leading journals linking the Dortmund striker to Premier League in January, it is hard to see the move going through especially with the kind of season Aubameyang has enjoyed so far.
He has already scored 23 goals this season for Dortmund and has been in unstoppable form. The African striker has pace to burn and will add potency to any club he joins. It has been thought that the striker will eventually leave Signal Eduna Park when the time is right, however, that time is certainly not in January 2016.
Thomas Tuchel has got Dortmund playing in an exciting way with Aubameyang being the key figure in attack. Although, the interest is concrete from Chelsea, but a transfer in January will not be seen as the ideal option for Dortmund as they will not find a feasible replacement for their star striker.
