Tottenham have emerged as the favorites to sign Everton’s forgotten man Ross Barkley, according to reports from Daily Star.
The report claims that Barkley has fallen out of favour at Everton in recent weeks after only being used from the bench by manager Ronald Koeman.
Koeman is looking to sign Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay in January and wants to sell Barkley to raise necessary funds.
Everton are ready to accept an offer anywhere near £30million and given Barkley is in the last 18-months of this contract, Toffees are ready to cash-in on their midfield man.
Chelsea and Arsenal interested as well
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea and Arsenal have kept a close eye on Barkley’s situation and want to submit a bid in January.
However, Spurs are keen to get the deal after seeing their big money summer signing Moussa Sissoko fail to make any sort of impression so far, this season.
Chances of Tottenham signing Barkley – 2/5
Tottenham may end up splashing the cash on Barkley but given their current midfield options, I wonder if Mauricio Pochettino would gamble on signing Barkley at this time.
On current form, Barkley may even fail to make Pochettino’s ideal starting XI. Everton, however, will jump at the opportunity of selling Barkley for anything around £25-30million.
