Premier League summer transfer window is still couple of months away from kicking off but it has not stopped the tabloids from reporting stories which will draw your attention.
Today’s big news is coming from Italy where Gonzalo Higuain has put Chelsea on alert by ditching a summer move to Manchester United.
According to reports from Daily Mail, Higuain is ready to snub a move to Old Trafford in favor of Chelsea but only if The Blues can guarantee him the role of first choice striker.
It is believed that both United and Chelsea are willing to splash £70million for Higuain after seeing him score 42 goals so far this season. However, Higuain is keen to work with Antonio Conte but needs further assurances to join the Stamford Bridge club.
According to Daily Star, Costa is considering his Chelsea future with Atletico Madrid and couple of Chinese clubs interested in signing the Brazilian striker.
Costa has not enjoyed a successful season at the Bridge and is assessing his options for next season after Chelsea missed out on Champions League football next season.
Chelsea can sign Higuain but only if Costa leaves in the summer. It has also given United a new lifeline to add a potent striker to their squad next season. Higuain and Antoine Griezmann are Red Devils’ top two choices to be the leading striker at Old Trafford next season.
Man United will face a tight battle from Chelsea for both Griezmann and Higuain, however, United can stand at an advantage if they can secure the top-4 spot and get Champions League football in their bag.
Considering the massive squad overhaul planned in the summer Manchester United’s season depends on their next four games where they would want to beat Manchester City for the final Champions League spot for next season.
