Marvin Compper will play his second game for Celtic today when the Hoops challenge Standard Liege in a friendly match.
Brendan Rodgers signed the central defender from RB Leipzig in January but after an incredible build-up, he only managed to play one game in the first-team.
Injuries and the form of Kris Ajer and Jack Hendry left Compper watching from the sideline most times with supporters not grasping the purpose of his signing.
Compper looked to be playing his way back into contention during the pre-season games in Austria but injury had him looking in from the outside in the games against Shamrock Rovers and Alashkert.
Rodgers is likely to start today with the best of his team then make 11 changes at half-time similar to the way that he used his squad for the match against Shamrock Rovers.
Kieran Tierney will be absent today with Calvin Miller coming in at left-back.
With the Champions League qualifier against Alashkert virtually settled Rodgers will be able to rotate his squad a little in the return leg to ensure that as many players as possible get some game time before next week’s second round tie against Valur or Rosenborg.
