Celtic fans are divided over the Scottish side’s interest in Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew, according to a survey.
Words were going around earlier this week that the Swansea City attacker is a £14m transfer target for the Scottish club after his club were relegated to the English Championship.
Ayew enjoyed good form with the Swans in the just concluded season but with the club getting demoted to the second division, the striker must move to cut the wage bill at Swansea.
Celtic were reported to have joined Liverpool in trying to secure the striker’s signature but the £14m buyout clause in his contract will be a hindrance.
While some of Celtic supporters are pleading with the club to break its transfer record to secure the Ghanaian, some Hoops supporters feel the funds will be better used somewhere else.
Ayew, 47 capped Ghana international scored 11 goals for Swansea City and turned out to be the club’s best player of the season.
Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers already has good attacking options in Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths but the arrival of Ayew could reveal their intentions.
