Celtic continues their impeccable form to the start of the season by defeating Rangers in the Scottish premier league. Two second half goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths eased Celtic to victory over Rangers at Ibrox.
This took them to 8 points ahead of their rival. It was a memorable match from Celtic after they won the match which makes them extend their unbeaten run to 57 domestic games.
The visitors were all over their host as they push to get an early goal through Rogic in the first half but were unable to deny him in the second half as he pounce on a free ball that he beautifully curled it home.
The second goal came also in the second half as Griffiths added a second goal after strings of passes by the team which lead to Patrick Roberts giving him a goal bound opportunity which he dutifully converted. At this point in the game, they were in cruise control of the match.
The match could have saw more goals from the visitors but the hostile home fans made the atmosphere unpleasant for the travelling supporters but it was only able to reduce the goals not change the result.
Rangers entered the game not having their first choice defenders available in Lee Wallace and Bruno Alves, as well as back-ups Declan John and Danny Wilson but had to go with a 19-year-old centre-back, stepped in to make his first start for the club against the toughest opposition in the country.
With Moussa Dembele, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, and Jonny Hayes all not starting the game, Celtic had a better squad available for the match day. No wonder the result.
It was a game well dominated by Celtic and the result and stats were also in favour of the winners. Celtic will now continue their unbeaten run and hope to preserve it as long as possible.
