The transfer market is officially open and news and reports have beginning to flirt around about players moving from one club to the other. Celtic is not left out of this circus. Two prominent deals are expected to happen as the transfer market gather steam.
One of the deals is the one that involves Lewis Morgan. The Hoops are set to agree a deal that will bring the St Mirren midfielder to the club. The fees, according to BBC are around £300k to make the player wear the Celtic jersey. The deal is in the advance stage and it’s expected to happen any moment from now.
The last process is for the Hoops to complete the paper works with the SPFL once their offices reopen on Wednesday.
The arrangement for both club is that he will be loaned back to the club and will finally join Celtic at the end of the season. This is to help St Mirren consolidate in their championship position as they currently sit top of the log in Scotland second division.
At 21, he has had a great impact at the club contributing 9 goals so far this season for the Saints in 20 appearances.
Another player on the radar of the Glasgow club is Australian midfielder Leo Mazis. The midfielder had in tilly had a trial at Celtic last year and a move could be imminent very soon. The 17-year-old currently plays for Belconnen United in Australia’s National Premier Leagues.
These two signings are long term plans by Brendan Rodgers to reinforce his squad going forward and getting these players at a relatively cheap price.
This will help Celtic maintain a very good dominance in Scotland as they scout the best talent early on than any other side in the country. Morgan and Mazis will be decent signings for the club and hopefully they could end up like Moussa Dembele.
