Borussia Dortmund take on Tottenham in one of the most anticipated Europa League ties this season. Both teams have been playing some exceptional football, and their clash promises to be goal-fest and filled with some high-quality football.
Ahead of the massive kick-off, we take a look at three key questions which ought to be answered following this high-octane game at Signal Iduna Park.
Can Tottenham take on Europe’s best?
Tottenham have been one of the best teams in Premier League this season, but there is still question marks over their ability to play against European Football’s finest. Dortmund have a well drilled defense and an even dangerous forward line.
Tottenham would rely on Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane to have their best game of the season and see off the dangerous Dortmund side. On paper, Spurs aren’t too far behind their German counterpart, but when it comes to application, a lot of questions will be answered tonight.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Harry Kane
Arguably two of the best strikers will collide tonight in a clash which I personally have been looking forward for sometime now. While their styles may be different, but the end result turns out to be goals, goals and goals.
Both would look to outdo and outscore each other which is good news for all the football fans around the world.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection
The Argentine manager has vowed to give equal attention to all three competitions his side are part of, but deep down, he would want to win the Premier League above every other honor.
Keeping that in mind, it will be interesting to see which players he decides to give rest considering the weekend game against Aston Villa.
Spurs would want to put pressure on Arsenal and Leicester as Gunners have a tricky tie against Everton and Leicester do not play until Monday night.
