Europa League – Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI

While the entire footballing world is busy thinking about Liverpool vs Manchester United, for me Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham will be the best game of Europa League this season. Both teams have played exceptional football this season, and could give us a high-octane entertaining game to witness.

Ahead of the massive tie at Signal Eduna Park, we take a look at the best possible Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI comprising of all the fit and available players. What we got in the end, was a mouth-watering combination of 11 players laying at the very top of their abilities, take a look:

Defense:

Such is the attacking talent on show for both these teams, I had to omit Danny Rose from our Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI and go with a 3-men defense. Arguably, Toby Alderweireld has been the best defender in Europe this season and he walks in to our combined XI.

Partnering Alderweireld is another class central defender in Mats Hummels, who has found his form after an erratic 2014/15 season. Lucas Piszczek is the third defender in Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI, who is adaptable enough to play as full-back or as a central defender.

Midfield:

Ilkay Gundogan could be headed to Manchester City next season and he will get a first hand experience of what is it like to play against a top Premier League side.

Gundogan is paired with Eric Dier in our Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI, who has been influential for Spurs this season.

Attack:

Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham are blessed to have players who can change the game in an instance and are fully capable of scoring goals. Dele Alli has been a revelation this season, and he starts from left hand side in our Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI.

From the right, we have Henrik Mkhitaryan, who has once again been a key player in Dortmund’s successful season. Christian Eriksen is one of the best players from the number 10 role, and he can decide the game tonight as Dortmund take on Spurs in Europa League.

Now comes the most important part of a team – The Strikers, and we have two of the very best forwards in Europe at the moment. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane have hit 20-goal mark this season and will be the main men for their teams tonight.

One key man missing from our Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Combined XI is Marco Reus, whose form has been largely inconsistent this season.
