Arsenal to sign £30m rated Premier League striker against Arsene Wenger’s wish

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a surprise £30m bid for out of sorts Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, according to reports from Daily Star.

The report claims Bony has been told by Pep Guardiola that he has no future at the Etihad after the Ivory Coast striker was left out of the squad for City’s friendly game against Arsenal.

Bony joined the Cityzens back in January 2015 but has struggled to replicate his form at Swansea. The 27-year-old striker has managed only 10 goals in 46 appearances with most of them coming in the cup matches.

With Bony certain to quit Man City this summer Arsenal are tempted to make an offer for the powerful striker but Arsene Wenger is not convinced with the idea.

The French manager believes Bony has lost his goal-scoring touch and it would be a huge gamble to sign him. Everton are also linked with a move for Bony, who is valued in the region of £15m.

Is Bony Arsenal’s last option?

Given how Arsenal have managed to ruin their hunt for a new striker this summer, Wilfried Bony may be the only reasonable option available in the market for them right now.

Jamie Vardy, Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku, Mauro Icardi and more recently Alexandre Lacazette have all said no to a chance of signing for Arsenal. The trend may continue for ever if Wenger does not act now and complete Bony’s signing.

However, with Everton in the mix and more desperate to sign a striker after Lukaku’s inevitable exit, The Toffees are favorites for me to sign Bony from Manchester City in coming weeks. Sorry Arsenal fans ….
