There is a new and energized feeling among Celtic fans recently after their club signed a new young goalkeeper. Liam Hughes moved from Irish top-flight club Dungannon Swifts to join the Hoops. He has been seen as a special talent and a player the team needs at this point in time.

The news about the signing was announced on Celtic academy twitter account which gathered swift response from their fans showing delight about the signing. At the age of 16, Celtic have gotten for themselves a goalkeeper for the next decade or more.

The tweet reads:

No wonder Celtic fans were delighted about his arrival that prompted tweets like:

Liam Hughes will link up with the Celtic academy and will continue his football development there and hope to make it to the first team soon. Celtic has a very good culture of promoting youngsters through the ranks and he can take a cue from that.

Celtic also have a very good relationship with Irish players as it is evident in their club now. Also, he will be motivated by the fact that Craig Gordon and Dorus De Vries are in the twilight of their careers and if he has fully shown his quality to the coach, he might be taking the slot as the club first choice in a few years from now.
