Celtic are interested in acquiring the signature of 23-year-old Hibernian midfielder John McGinn this summer. According to reports, Brendan Rodgers wants the Scotland international to be his first summer signing. McGinn was remarkable for Hibernian last season and his arrival would definitely improve the Celtic midfield
Reports claim that Rodgers could throw in Scott Allan as a makeweight in the deal.
It will be interesting to see whether the Scottish champions will be able to come to an agreement with Hibernian now. McGinn is one of their top player and Hibernian will be reluctant to let him go.
Having said that, Celtic are a much bigger club and if their interest is genuine, the player could decide to push for a transfer.
The 23-year-old could be an ideal partner for Scott Brown at the heart of Celtic’s midfield next season. The technically gifted midfielder would complement Brown’s skill-set perfectly. But it does not seem like we would be seeing him at Parkhead as the player just seemingly pledged his loyalty to Hibs.
John McGinn on future: “But, at this moment in time, I'm just concentrating on Scotland, trying to play the best I can and, whether I'm at Hibs for another few games or for the whole season, I would be delighted to be there."

In the long run, he could serve as a long-term replacement for the Celtic fan favourite as well
