Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is the hottest striker in the transfer window right now after scoring 39 goals in 46 games last season. Teams likes Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United are linked with a move for the Gabon International this summer.
Seeing the buzz surrounding the 27-year old striker, Aubameyang’s father came out and clarified the rumours for us. His statement was nothing new which cited in to the offers from several clubs and how they are eyeing a move for his son.
Aubameyang’s father said: “Interest from Atletico? Yes, and many other teams.
“He’s contracted with Borussia for four more years so we must not speak about it, but of course, teams are watching him for what he did last season.”
These words must come as a boost to Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Dortmund striker as it clearly suggests that clubs are still trying to sign him despite his lengthy contract (until 2020) with the Bundesliga club.
Gunners would need to splash something around £45-50million to sign Aubameyang this summer, however, that would ensure Arsenal of a dominant 2016/17 season given the striker’s exploits last season.
