In a rather unexpected turn of events, FIFA have upheld their decision of banning Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid from making any transfers in next two windows.
In the latest reports issued by FIFA, they have confirmed that upon a successful appeal made by the two Madrid clubs, FIFA have suspended their transfer bans until the end of next summer transfer window.
The decision would now mean that Real and Atleti will be allowed to sign players in the next transfer window. The news may not come as a good one for the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
De Gea to Real Madrid
David De Gea is a key target for Real Madrid, while Diego Costa has his heart set on a move back to Atletico Madrid. Amid the news of transfer bans, De Gea and Costa were set for a longer Premier League stay.
However, with FIFA now deciding to uphold their initial decision, Madrid giants will be allowed to hold talks with the players and the safe money would lie with De Gea and Costa quitting English football in favor of a move back to La Liga.
Gareth Bale to Chelsea or Man United?
Despite these setbacks, Manchester United and Chelsea will be given huge encouragements in their reported pursuit of Gareth Bale. The former Spurs man wants out of the Bernabeu and will be hoping for a concrete bid next summer from either of these Premier League giants.
One team, who will be relieved with this news are Arsenal, who have been chasing Real Madrid’s Isco for long. With the transfer ban upheld, Real Madrid will be willing to sell Isco for a reported £24million and find apt replacements.
However, Alexis Sanchez to Real Madrid story will create some uneasy moments for the Arsenal supporters. With one decision made by the FIFA, entire landscape of the next summer transfer window has been changed.
