According to a report in The Guardian, Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has asked to leave Stamford Bridge.

Begovic has grown frustrated with his inability to break into the team at Stamford Bridge and now is looking for a way out.

Bournemouth are reportedly chasing Begovic, but Everton are also linked with a move for Begovic after an inconsistent start to the season from their top 2 goal keepers.

Face of Football’s take

Chelsea might be making a mistake in letting go Begovic in January as Thibaut Courtois seems destined to join Real Madrid next summer.

Begovic may not be a household name in Premier League, but is good enough to be the number 1 choice keeper for any top side in England.

However, a loan move in January could benefit both Chelsea and Begovic as the it would give the Bosnian keeper enough time to impress his new manager Antonio Conte and make a claim for a place in starting XI next season.
