How Arsenal will line-up with 28-goals new signing and Mahrez

Arsenal finished 6th in the Premier League last season, failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the Arsene Wenger era.

The 13 time English champions have had contract wranglings with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the Gunners are keen to strengthen in other areas to prove to Sanchez and Ozil that they have what it takes to compete with the top teams in England.

The deals for Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette and Leicester winger, Riyad Mahrez are rumored to be close, and now we take a look at the potential lineup for next season.

Petr Cech, the legendary goalkeeper is expected to remain at the club and keep his no 1 jersey, while David Ospina is expected to leave The Emirates in search of first team football.

Szczesny is expected to return after his loan spell expires and challenge for first choice but Cech still reigns supreme.

Arsenal played with 3-4-3 formation towards the tail end of last season to great success, winning 8 out of the final 10 matches. In the heart of defence, new signing, Sead Kolasinac is expected to partner Laurent Koscielny and Skhodran Mustafi who impressed as Germany won the Confederations Cup.

In the wing back department, Hector Bellerin is expected to start on the right, while on the left, Nacho Monreal has cemented his place in the starting eleven ahead of Kieran Gibbs.

In the midfield, the partnership of Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka was superb after the switch to the three-at-the-back system, often complementing each other and giving balance to the team. Xhaka is the tough-tackling defensive midfielder, while Ramsey is the central midfielder capable of launching lightning counter attacks.

Alexis Sanchez is expected to leave Arsenal after growing frustrated with contract negotiations. The 28 year old Chile international has set his sights on a move away from the 12-time FA Cup winners, while Ozil is expected to remain and sign a new contract.

Riyad Mahrez is rumoured to be close to a move to Arsenal, and should replace Sanchez in the starting 11. Striker, Alexandre Lacazette is also close to a transfer and will offer a superb goalscoring threat, who will guarantee 20+ goals per season.
