News about Alexis Sanchez contract talks have been on a low in recent days until yesterday that news broke that Alexis has agreed personal terms with Manchester City, according to reports from Metro.
Some inside El Mercurio sources close to Alexis have been quoted saying‘Not playing in the Champions League is a big deal for Alexis, he is motivated to participate and win it.
Alexis spoke to his team-mates in Russia about the subject; he has spoken with his family as well.’ The source stated further by saying‘All of them came to the same conclusion, it is best for him to end his journey with Arsenal and join City. Alexis is not willing for that, for any reason, [to stay at Arsenal] his idea is to leave in this moment.’
Arsenal and their boss Arsene Wenger have consistently insisted that Alexis will not leave at the end of this summer to join an English club, even if he will have to leave on a free transfer next summer. Sanchez was Arsenal’s top scorer in the league last season scoring 24 goals and assisting 10 more.
The Chilean has just one year remaining on his contract with Arsenal and have been offered a new contract of around £300k a week.
