Arsenal and their cruel luck in Champions League knock out rounds draw continued tonight when they were drawn against Barcelona in the Round of 16. For the last six seasons in a row, Arsenal are getting knocked out at this stage by either Bayern Munich or Barcelona.
Gunner fans were expecting to avoid those two European heavyweights but such has been their luck that, they were once again drawn against the Catalan giants. As expected, Arsenal fans were not too pleased about the draw and the entire frustration was taken out at twitter where fans lashed UEFA’s draw system and more so the luck of their own team.
These tweets clearly tell us the lack of confidence fans have in their team when it comes to beating Barcelona in due course of time. Lately Arsenal have been cursed with injuries but despite that their recent form has been nothing sort of extraordinary. In Olivier Giroud, they have found a goal scorer and in Mesut Ozil, they have Europe’s best assist maker.
And by the time, Champions League round of 16 matches take place, Alexis Sanchez will be back and Arsene Wenger will have a chance to add to his squad strength. Thus, thinking that Arsenal vs Barcelona is a foregone conclusion is nothing but an act of stupidity.
Arsenal indeed have capability to beat any team in Europe and with little application and LUCK, they will surely get pass the massive task that lies ahead of them.
