Nicolas Tagliafico

As per reports, an English side is reportedly keen on a summer swoop to land Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico.

British media reports suggest Premier League giant Arsenal are reportedly interested in a bid to land Ajax player Nicolas Tagliafico.

According to a report by The Sun, the North London club is set to rival top European clubs like La Liga giants Atletico Madrid and Champions league holders Real Madrid for the defender’s signature this coming summer transfer window.

The same article suggest that the English giant have penciled down the £8m-valued left-back as a possible transfer target this coming window as Arsenal’s Spanish tactician Emery starts to think about strengthening his team ahead of next campaign.

The same report however says that both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are also keeping close tabs on the 26-year-old defender ahead of the next transfer window.

He has netted one goal and created three assists in 18 league games in the Dutch Eredivise for Ajax so far this campaign.

The same report suggest that the gunners may face a difficult task in convincing the defender to switch to England because he has expressed in the past his desire to play for a Spanish club.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are readying to host French club Rennes at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening as they hope to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg and reach the UEFA Europa League last eight.

The North London club are also attempting to break back into Premier League top four this term after missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification places for the last two seasons running.

Only time will tell which of the three suitors will eventually secure the signature of Nicolas Tagliafico later in the summer. Undoubtedly, the defender is a quality player, who will surely thrive at any top club.
