Arsenal 1 Swansea 2 – Talking Points
Title hopes fading away
When it looked like Arsenal would cruise to league title, they manage to come up with new ways of surrendering their advantage. After Leicester’s draw and Tottenham’s defeat, Gunners had a chance to close the gap on them, however, losing against Swansea has further killed their hopes of winning the title.
Alexis Sanchez has gone missing
The Chilean star was a major factor why Arsenal were piling on the goals and playing some beautiful football earlier in the season, however, since his return from injury, he has not been the same player.
He has failed to influence games and has been poor in recent games. He had gone missing against United, and although he saw his two strikes hit the post against Swansea, we did not see the Alexis of old, who was winning matches on his own for Arsenal.
Massive win for Swansea
After a poor run of results lately, Swansea were slowly getting drawn in the relegation battle. Caretaker manager Alex Curtis hailed the importance of win against Arsenal, which will not only help them fight the relegation battle, but it will restore the confidence of his players, and allow them to play freely.
