It has been speculated for weeks now, and it has been made all but official with Gianluca Di Marzio confirming the news that Antonio Conte is now the new Chelsea manager with the Italian set to sign a contract in next 10 days.
Those of you wondering who Gianluca Di Marzio is? He is the most trusted man when it comes to Italian transfer news. He was the first one to break Matteo Darmian’s move to Manchester United last summer and many other deals in the past.
Di Marzio confirmed Conte to Chelsea news on his ever followed twitter account and passed the news to Sky Sports, where he works as the Serie A expert.
According to initial reports, Conte will sign for Chelsea until 2019, and will bring with him his current coaching staff.
Conte is currently the head coach of Italian National side, and will be in charge of the side for the upcoming Euro 2016. Because of his current job, any official unveiling will made after the Euros next summer.
Conte has previously expressed his desires to quit the National side and return to club management next summer.
Conte has been in talks with Chelsea officials for last two weeks and he met with club director Michael Emenalo last night to discuss the project at Stamford Bridge in coming seasons.
As it turns out, Conte has agreed to manage Chelsea starting next season and will sign a 3-year deal, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio. Unless there are major shape-ups in coming weeks, Conte will take charge of the Stamford Bridge club next season.
