Arsenal are trying as much as possible to offload all the dead wood in their team before the transfer window close. One of such player is Mathieu Debuchy and he is set to join French League-1 side Nice.

Europe1 Sports claims Mathieu Debuchy will have a medical and a deal will be announced within the next 48 hours at OGC Nice.

Debuchy joined Arsenal in 2014 from Newcastle United as Bacary Sagna’s replacement but have failed to leave up to expectation as he was coming to Arsenal as France first choice right back.

He has injury to blame for cutting short his starting shirt at Arsenal and the emergence of Hector Bellerin makes it almost impossible for him to break back into the first team.

Series of injuries forced Arsenal to loan him to Bordeaux in January 2016, before making his first Arsenal appearance in 385 days against Bournemouth- but was taken off after just 14 minutes injured.

Leaving the Emirates looks like the reasonable move for Debuchy as Wenger has Bellerin and Ox Chamberlain capable of playing in his place for the team. Moving back to France might help him discover his former self.
