Alexander Pato has been the darling of Premier League Rumour mills in recent times. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all have been linked with a move for the striker, but as it turns out the former Milan forward is on his way to Chelsea.
Liverpool stalled too much on the deal, while Manchester United’s transfer plans are a mystery to everyone these days as no one exactly knows what Louis Van Gaal wants and who fits that criteria.
According to ESPN Brazil’s Mauro Cézar Pereira, Pato has agreed a £33k-a-week offer to join Chelsea ahead of multi-million salary from Chinese League and the MLS.
The reason why Pato to Chelsea is already a done deal because of Corinthians’ willingness or rather shall we say desperation to sell the striker.
Pato spent whole of 2015 playing of Sao Paulo (Corinthians’ fiercest rivals), where he managed to score 26 goals in the season. Now, if he comes back to his parent club, fans will make his life very difficult.
That is why the Brazilian club are keen on selling Pato this month and are willing to accept any offer in the region of £10million.
According to ESPN, player’s agent is already in England finalizing a deal for Pato to join Chelsea next week. Another reason why Pato looks nailed on to join Chelsea is Guus Hiddink’s eagerness to sign a new forward this month to provide cover for Diego Costa.
