Manchester United are the front runners in signing the highly rated French Under-20 star Adam Ounas, according to reports from the reliable French journal RMC.

The 19-year old made his Ligue 1 debut for Bordeaux last season and managed five goals and two assists in just 23 appearances. Such a remarkable breakthrough performance has seen as many as six clubs interested in signing the promising midfield star.

According to RMC, Stoke City and Southampton are keen on signing the player but Manchester United have put forward the most concrete offer so far.

United have allegedly contacted player’s entourage and are eyeing a transfer fee of £7.9million to agree a deal with Bordeaux this summer.

Player is contracted with the Ligue 1 side until 2019 which may see the transfer value rise considerably than the initially thought £7.9m.

Ounas is an attacking midfield player who loves to operate in the number 10 role. Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big fan of the 19-year old and sees him as a welcome addition to Old Trafford’s exciting youth production line.

Chances of Ounas signing for Man United – 2.5/5

Like any other transfer rumour, I am not going over the board just yet as talks are at a very initial stage.

United may be interested in signing the young player but have done nothing concrete so far to suggest that they are desperate to sign him.

At present, Jose Mourinho is busy in completing a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nemanja Matic and Breel Embolo.

Once they are out of the way, then only The Red Devils would turn their attention towards Adam Ounas and look to complete the reported £7.9m summer transfer.
