Call it crazy or just a transfer window thing but Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Arsenal midfield star Aaron Ramsey, according to reports from Independent.
Jose Mourinho is trying to sure up United’s midfield and has earmarked the likes of Andre Gomes and Henrikh Mkhitaryan as possible signings this summer.
However with Gomes busy with euro 2016 and Borussia Dortmund’s firm stance on not selling Mkhitaryan, United have turned their attention to Ramsey who is yet to nail down a starting XI role at Arsenal.
The Welsh star often floats in and out of the side due to his injuries and inconsistent performances. With Jack Wilshere fit and Granit Xhaka’ summer signing, one expects the same trend for Aaron Ramsey in coming seasons as well.
According to Guardian, Mourinho sees Ramsey to be his Frank Lampard at Manchester United and is willing to test Arsenal’s resolves by making a firm £35million bid.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will even consider that offer given their recent trend of selling the best players to their direct rivals, which has not gone well with their fans.
Chances of Ramsey signing for Man United – 1/5
This is the lowest I have ever rated a transfer rumour which goes to show the level of dreamy reporting in British tabloids these days.
Arsene Wenger still regrets selling Robin Van Persie to Manchester United and I am convinced he will not repeat the same mistake this summer or ever again.
To make things worst, he will have to deal with Jose Mourinho this time around. Despite the limited chances, Ramsey will be a key player for Arsenal next summer and I expect him to lead Arsenal to better days in coming seasons.
As far as we are concerned, following this transfer rumour is a waste of time and I am not even sure Manchester United fans would want Ramsey as their summer signing when the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitarayn can be signed.
