Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has seen his efforts so far to signing a marquee striker for his side yield no results.

He has been linked with moves for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, Torino forward Andrea Belotti and Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And after the Romelu Lukaku miss, the Italian manager is desperate to find a replacement for Diego Costa who is bound to leave the club this summer.

And now, the Mirror is claiming that the Premier League champions have based their focus on signing Aubameyang and have already agreed to pay him an after tax  salary of £7 million per year.

However, Borussia Dortmund has stated, earlier this week, that they are not ready to entertain any offer for the Gabon international but it is left to see if Chelsea could tempt them with a lucrative offer.

Conte had told Costa via a text message that he was not part of his plans and was left out of the squad for Chelsea’s pre-season tour to Asia. The London club has rejected Atletico Madrid’s £26 million offer
for the Spanish striker and want a fee to the tune of £60 million.

Aubameyang scored 40 goals across all competitions for Dortmund last season, winning the Bundesliga Golden Boot in the process.

The forward, also valued at £60 million, is also wanted by Italian club AC Milan and a Chinese club
