Five reasons why Harry Kane has been successful this season

Back when 2015/16 season began, if any player had to prove his worth to the Premier League fans it was Harry Kane. Tottenham striker was coming on the back of a breakout debut season where he managed to score 21 league goals.

While the entire world saluted his goal-scoring exploits, there were few who tagged him as a “one-season wonder”.

Despite the pressure put on him, Kane is currently Premier League’s top-scorer this season with 24 goals to his name and is leading an incredible title push for Spurs.

While there is no doubt about his credentials of being a top player, we still decided to dig further and look at five reasons why Harry Kane has been successful this season.

5 reasons why Harry Kane has been successful this season

  1. Mental strength and Self-belief

You may not find those people anymore who had tagged Kane as a “one-season wonder” but earlier in the season, they were shouting at top of their lungs.

At the start of 2015/16 season, Kane went 9 games without scoring and some of his ardent fans had started to wonder if he is here to stay. Credit must be given to Mauricio Pochettino for the way he stuck by his striker and never put any pressure on him.

Soon the goal-drought ended and since then it has been raining goals for the Spurs hitman. He has 24 goals to his name and is the popular choice to win this season’s golden boot award.

  1. Ability to score all kind of goals

He can score from his right foot, his left foot, towering headers, solo goals and he is well capable to act as the poacher inside the penalty box as well. He has different dimensions to his game, which allows him to score all kind of goals and be a threat for the opposition be it in the first or the last minute of a match.

  1. Cannot be bullied

If you go around asking Premier League defenders which striker is hardest to fend off the ball, many might go for Harry Kane. His ability to keep hold of the ball and not give up possession is somewhat like Wayne Rooney.

Perhaps it is an English thing but Kane hardly gives away the ball and holds his own in strong tackles and aerial duels. He is a hard man to mark and it has played a key role in his successful 2015/16 campaign.
