Celtic and Leeds have joined the race to secure Manchester City star defender Jason Denayer’s signature.

Denayer has been continuously linked with a move to Galatasaray in recent weeks, however, the Istanbul giants have failed to come to an agreement with Man City.

The Belgium international spent the previous season on loan with the Lions and helped them to the top of the Super Lig.

Denayer has also previously spent a season loan spell at Celtic.

According to the Scotsman, both Celtic and Leeds are also planning a move for the Belgium international this summer.

Denayer was included in Pep Guardiola’s pre-season squad and has played in the International Champions Cup.

However, the 23-year-old is at the bottom of the pecking order at City with John Stones, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte, and Nicolas Otamendi all ahead of him.

The versatile defender established himself as a first-teamer in Fatih Terim’s squad last season and has two more years on his contract with the Citizens.

Galatasaray ended up winning the Super Lig for the 21st time and securing themselves a place in the Champions League.

Denayer would return as a first-choice centre-back if he were to complete his third loan move to the Lions.
