Manchester United are edging closer now than before to completing the signing of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
Ace journalist and The Independent chief editor Miguel Delaney reports that a deal is closer to be finalized.
Perisic now very close. Will be good signing. Crosses the ball almost five times more than United’s current wingers – needed with Lukaku!

The chase for Perisic has been taking lots of pattern in the last couple of days as Ed Woodward has negotiated with Inter Milan over the price of Perisic but for so long was unwilling to head towards the £45m mark which Inter wanted for the 28-year-old. Now that a deal is close, it means that one of the negotiating party have budged.
What the deal entails is yet to be known in terms of if it would involve a player swoop plus cash. Darmian, Smalling and Martial have all been linked as part of the deal to bring Perisic to England. Inter Milan are trying to sort out the future Ivan Perisic before they go on their China tour.
Manchester United will be glad to quickly round up the Perisic deal and he will be a well suited for the current Jose Mourinho team who needs a direct winger and Perisic is a perfect fit for that. It will be a great signing for United if it eventually happens.
